President Yoweri Museveni has disclosed that the Government is committed to building houses for teachers and medical personnel at their places of work.

President Yoweri Museveni has disclosed that the Government is committed to building houses for teachers and medical personnel at their places of work.

The President made the remarks on New Year’s Day during a tour of Kazo Secondary School in Kiruhura district. He toured the school after attending an inter-denominational service, according to a statement from State House.

Under the Universal Secondary Education programme, the Government spent sh565m on 12 classrooms and two science laboratories for Kazo Secondary School; it is a mixed school.

The President, who was accompanied by his wife, Janet Museveni, pledged a donation of a bus to the school.
He further said the Government will set up a computer laboratory and a library at the institution.

Gender minister John Nasasira, who also is the area MP, thanked the President for providing the area with electricity.

The chairman of the school’s Board of Governors, Rev. Stephen Namanya, thanked President Museveni for supporting the construction of the school.

He also commended the NRM Government for extending electricity and water to the area.

Namanya revealed that Kazo Secondary School has been the best performing school in the A’level examinations in Kiruhura since 2007.
