Aziz Kemba scored the lone goal that helped SC Villa beat Lweza 1-0  to  win THE Independence Cup on Thursday at Nakivubo stadium.

Kemba gave SC Villa a 13th minute strike after heading in Andrew Kaggwa's cross.

This was the second time SC Villa is beating  Lweza after the two sides  met in the league a fortnight ago, where Villa emerged 2-0 victors at Mityana SSaza grounds.

The victory gave Sam Ssimbwa his first trophy as Villa coach.

“I am happy. A trophy is a trophy. There is nothing like a small trophy. I will take it with all its importance,” he said.

Lweza' came close to an equalizer in the 52nd minute but goalie Nicholas Sebwato saved brilliantly from a Fred Kalanzi effort. Sebwato went ahead to save Mike Serumaga's  strike from twenty yards.

Villa were reduced to ten men after  goalkeeper Sebwato was dismissed for handling outside his area. Coach Ssimbwa  who had exhausted all his substitution slots had to use Moses Gaale as goalkeeper.

Villa play arch-rivals Express FC in their next game at Mityana in the Uganda Premier League.
