Students of Makerere University Business School last week cleaned up the Kasolo village mosque in Bulamagi sub-county, Iganga district.

The 45 members of Balunywa Foundation slashed and swept the compound as well as cleaning up the drainage at the nearby borehole.

Villagers gave foodstuffs like jackfruit and sweet bananas to the students. Musa Rukidi, the team leader, told New Vision that this is an annual event which has been undertaken by the group since 2003.

The district kadhi hailed the students for their exemplary action, saying it would serve as a wake-up call to the community so that they can also occasionally clean their neighbourhood.
