The Police are investigating a new wave of crime in the city in which unscrupulous people reportedly use key holders with sophisticated devices to track and steal cars.

The robbers, who mainly operate at fuel stations, hand out the key holders to unsuspecting drivers, saying they are promotional offers from companies.

Deputy Police spokesperson Vincent Ssekatte on Thursday disclosed the new method of car robbery during a press conference.

“We have discovered a new form of car robbery where the thugs will give out key holders and use them to gather information on where your car is moving and where it parks.”
