FUFA blocks Namboole access roads

Uganda Cranes fans without match tickets will not be allowed beyond the access roads to Mandela National Stadium, Namboole during the Uganda Cranes versus Togo Africa Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday, FUFA has said.

Uganda Cranes fans without match tickets will not be allowed beyond the access roads to Mandela National Stadium, Namboole during the Uganda Cranes versus Togo Africa Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday, FUFA has said.
 
The federation has said that only fans with the different categories of tickets will be allowed beyond access roads around the stadium as a security measure.
 
FUFA spokesman Hussein Ahmed confirmed that the move is part of their efforts to allow security forces maintain conducive environment.
 
“Security is not comfortable with people loitering around the gates. Those are the people who steal from and even beat fans during and after the match. No one will be allowed to the gates without tickets. All the access roads to the gates will be closed from 10am,” Ahmed explained.
 
In another move only 20 cars will be allowed into the VIP parking yard. Only ticket holders in the categories of sh50,000 and sh120,000 will be allowed through the main gate.
 
 Ticket holders in the category of sh20,000 will access the stadium via the Northern, Southern and Eastern gates depending on their ticket colour. Fans carrying green tickets will access the stadium via the northern gate, blue tickets through Eastern gate while pink ticket holders will enter through the southern gate.
 
The minister in charge of the presidency, Frank Tumwebaze will be the lead fan as his boss Yoweri Museveni, who had been invited to do so has indicated that he will be occupied elsewhere.
 
The Togolese contingent has opted to jet in at mid-day Friday and will lodge at Grand Imperial Hotel.
 
The match tickets are on sale at City Oil Nakawa, Kamwokya, Bombo Road, Namirembe Road, Martin Road, Gapco Ben Kiwanuka Street.
 
Other fuel stations that are selling the tickets include Total Bweyogerere, Kireka, City Centre-Opposite Uganda House, Nakivubo, Bwaise, Kansanga, Shell, Kibuye, Capital, Kobil, Kasubi, Kawempe, Namirembe and Ndeeba.
 
FUFA has also authorised shops including City Shoppers Mukono, Hardware World-Ntinda, Makubuya Shop-Jinja, FUFA House, Jude Color Solutions at Prime Complex, Quality Garments at Jesco Plaza Wilson and New City Supermarket at Ham Shopping Ground to set the tickets.
 
Tickets are also available at Airtel shops at Global Trust Bank Building on Jinja Road, Bugolobi near Nakumatt, Lugogo at Game Shopping Mall, Ben Kiwanuka Street, Bweyogerere near Total Gas Station and Entebbe-Victoria Mall.
