Back-to-back wins have put Ronald Ssebuguzi back in contention for the 2012 Sprint Championship with one race to go.

Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi Evo9), coming off victory in the the Race of Champions last month and Mbarara Motor Club sprint two weeks ago, took his tally 28 points, just two to behind leader Duncan Mubiru (Subaru N14).

With Christakis Fitidis still hanging at 26 with and Wycliff Bukenya on 24, the Champion of Champions Sprint at Garuga on December 26 will determine the winner.

“All the drivers in contention are very fast. Anybody can take it. I will ask my sponsor to allow me take time off my Christmas holiday to compete in the race. My car is in sound mechanical condition and I am ready to face off with them,” Ssebuguzi stated.

The Jomayi Rally Team driver reckons that an unfamiliar Garuga race track will heighten the level competition.

The event is organised by Southern Motor Club.

It is the final event on the 2012 Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) calendar.
