President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Dr. Judith Tumusiime Tukahirwa as the deputy executive director of the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

The appointment comes 18 months after KCCA’s inception. The deputy executive director, according to the KCCA Act 2010, is appointed by the President on the advice of the Public Service Commission.

trueThe person is expected to be of high moral character and proven integrity and qualified to be a permanent secretary in the Government. She will assist KCCA executive director Jennifer Musisi in executing her duties.

Tumusiime was been working with the authority as a consultant in the department of health and environment.

She joined KCCA as a consultant in public health and environment. Tumusiime holds a PhD in sanitation and solid waste management.

According to a source in KCCA, Tumusiime was appointed early this week.

“We got information of her appointment last night,” the source said.

Last year, the President appointed eight directors to head different departments in KCCA. They are Jennifer Kaggwa (human resource), Phoebe Lutaaya (revenue collection), Harriet Mudondo (community and production) and Daniel Kyambadde (treasury services).

Others were Andrew Kitaka (engineering), Michael Okua (legal affairs), Moses Bwire (internal audit) and George Agaba (physical planning). He was later interdicted.
