The non-title professional boxing fight between Hudson Muhumuza and Joseph Sentongo was stopped in the second round after the heavyweight rivals started spilling blood.

The situation forced referee Simon Mukisa to act at Club Obligato on Sunday. Action was supposed to go on until the fourth round.

Muhumuza, sponsored by Aqua Sipi, had started off with a fighting style geared at getting a knock out.

Later, the boxers started trading punches and the round ended with each bleeding from a series of with cuts. The barrage of punches continued in the second round forcing the referee to stop the fight.true

One fan, expecting a thrilling contest, left for home disappointed. “This was ugly boxing, it was like a street fight,” the fan stated.

Prior to the contest, fans had witnessed an entertaining lightweight fight between Dragon Kidega and Medi Bukenya.

The fight ended in a draw and the fighters agreed on a rematch whose date will be fixed later.

Elsewhere, Hamza Wandera defeated Juma Iga in a light middle weight fight.
