For a fact, Ugandans love to party. They were at it again on Saturday night as they partied till late at the highly anticipated Club Mega Fest, although it did not end the way they had anticipated.

The gates opened as early as 11:00am, and the crowds started sauntering in. But the show, which was supposed to begin at noon, did not kick off until 5:00pm.

Young Mulo of the Tebakusobola club banger was the first to hit the stage, wowing the fans with a powerful performance.

Michael Ross followed shortly after and many more local artistes kept coming on stage, making the growing crowd forget that they had waited long hours for this dose of full blast entertainment.

As darkness set in, the already excited crowd was treated to a live instrumental marathon of performances by the artistes from the Golden Band.

DJ Shiru also later came on and showed his power in crowd command as he mixed their best party songs.

And with perhaps no other way to express their excitement, the audience kept jumping and raising their hands in the air.

However, despite all this entertainment, the crowd began to lose patience when it clocked 10:00pm and none of the expected international artistes had shown face.

They started booing the MCs.

But perhaps after learning that the revellers were increasingly getting disoriented, Jamaican dancehall artiste Patra was brought on stage.

To the audience’s surprise, she arrived on stage almost naked. Her performance lasted about 15 minutes.

The crowd got even more agitated when it clocked 11:30pm and there was no sign that the likes of Burna Boy, Shaggy or Mafi kizolo would come on stage soon.

Bebe Cool was brought on to keep the crowd engaged, but many were getting irate.

Shaggy later came on amid wild screams and took the freshly excited crowd through his 23-year music journey, performing his hits including Bombastic, Strength of a Woman, Angel, and Hey Sexy Lady, among his other crowd pulling hits.

He performed for about an hour-and-a-half, before Burna Boy came on stage to give his share of entertainment.

The crowd was sent into a wild moment of excitement when the Nigerian star’s jeans got torn as he did a downward wind.

Trying hard to hide his embarrassment, Burna waved goodbye and ran off the stage. Quite bemused, the crowd waited for the Mafi kizolo duo to show up, but this was never going to happen.

The South Africans were nowhere to be seen, prompting the already tired revellers to walk out of the stadium, marking the end of the show at about 3:30am.

Mafi kizolo later tweeted that they had waited for hours to perform, and apologized to their fans for not performing.
