Procurement of Spare parts, Batteries and Tyres for District Local Government

Vehicles, Plant and Equipment under Regional Mechanical Workshops.

1. The Government of Uganda through Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) has budgeted for procurement of the above supplies under the framework arrangement for 18 months.

2. MoWT invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of Framework Contracts for the supply of Spare parts, Batteries and Tyres.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open domestic competitive bidding procedures contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003.

4. You may obtain further information from MoWT Headquarters, Entebbe and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at 7(a) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To further clarify any unclear issues in the bidding document, a pre-bid meeting shall be held on Wednesday, 7th November, 2012 at 11:00am at the address in No. 7 (a) below.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language maybe purchased upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of Shs 100,000 (local currency). The method of payment will be by deposit on the Uganda Revenue Authority account against a bank payment advice form issued by the Ministry. The document will be picked by the bidders from the address in No. 7 (a).

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 7(a) at or before 11.00 a.m. on Friday, 23rd /11/2012. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security in form of a bank guarantee as per format of bid security contained in this solicitation document or bank draft. Bid security amount in Uganda Shillings per lot will be as indicated below:

i. Lot 4, Lot 9, Lot 11 and Lot 13 ……..... 1,700,000/=

ii. Lot 3 and Lot 8………………………... 3,000,000/=

iii. Lot 1, Lot 6, Lot 7, Lot 10 and Lot 12…...5,000,000/=

iv. Lot 2 and Lot 14… …………………....7,000,000/=

v. Lot 5 and Lot 15………………………...9,000,000/=

Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below in No. 7(a) at 11.30 a.m. on Friday, 23rd /11 / 2012.
