The conference will run under a number of sub themes such as planning our cities, powering our cities, water and sanitation and financing cities.
Kaggwa explained that the forum that will bring together the World’s city leaders, development experts, planners, scientists and civil society representatives will focus on impact of rapid urbanization, city transport, traffic and congestion, renewable energy as a key ingredient in the regenerative development of human settlements, clean and adequate water supplies and sanitation.
The leaders and development experts will also chart a way forward towards identifying opportunities for raising financing for city investments to close the funding gaps from central governments to improve the quality of life of the city dwellers.
The participants, KCCA spokesperson Peter Kaujju, said are expected from 30 countries. “We are working with several private companies and stakeholders to ensure this conference is a success.
The forum is going to show us what other cities have done to deal with the challenges we are facing and we are privileged to host it,” Kaujju said.
