Travelers along Kuruma – Pakwach highway have been robbed by unknown gunmen in two separate incidents

Aswa region police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema said eight gunmen, who were dressed in army uniforms [UPDF] robbed the driver of a Fuso Lorry, registration number  UAB 268L, from Agung in Nwoya district at around 1.00am Wednesday morning.

He said the driver of the Lorry told police that he was robbed of sh400,000.
 
Okema told this reporter this morning that they also got a report the armed robbers parked a vehicle in the middle of the road in Agung, blocked a California bus, registration number UAS 699 U and fired at the bus.

He said the robbers stole money and mobile phones from travelers who were from Arua headed to Kampala.
 
Okema said the passengers told police that the robbers had a pistol, an SMG and an AK47 rifle.
