The Big Brother Africa TV reality show, which was due to start on Sunday 7 September, has been postponed indefinitely because of a reported fire in the house.

According to a statement from Multichoice, the company that broadcasts the TV show, efforts are underway to find an alternative Big Brother House.

“At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production”, the statement read.

“However as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available.”

This would have been the night season of the highly popular TV show, there have been speculation on social media as to which two Ugandan will be in the house this year.

Elsewhere Multichocie had announced that this year Sierra Leone and Rwanda had been omitted from participating in the reality show, for various reasons.
