A new audit probe into the alleged NSSF mismanagement has been formed, barely a month after parliament formed a select committee to investigate the same matter.
This was disclosed by the minister of finance, Maria Kiwanuka, while appearing before the NSSF probe chaired by Kalungu East MP Vincent Sempijja.

Kiwanuka told the committee that her ministry directed the Auditor General to carry out an independent evaluation of how NSSF purchased shares in UMEME, alleged mismanagement of the Workers Fund and issues related to nepotism during recruitment of workers.
She said that this audit by the Auditor general will thoroughly dig out all the mess in the Fund.
