KCCA appeals to parliament for schools' land titles

Kampala Capital City Authority have asked the education committee of parliament to assist them in securing their schools’ land titles to adequately plan for them

Kampala Capital City Authority have asked the education committee of parliament to assist them in securing their schools’ land titles to adequately plan for them

Acting executive director Judith Tumusiime told the committee that they have only secured one title belonging to Kamwokya Primary School despite several attempts to acquire titles of over 100 schools from both Buganda land board and Uganda Land Commission.

Tumusiime said they cannot invest in renovating the schools for fear of losing money. She cited an example of Nabagereka Primary School which was sold after the Authority had renovated the buildings.
