HUNDREDS of NRM cadres in Kampala Central are jubilating after completing 30 days of training at Nakivubo Blue Primary School in Kampala.

President Yoweri Museveni passed out the team on Thursday during a colourful occasion. Not even the heavy down pour could dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic youth that were carefully assembled by Alan Kajik, the Kampala deputy resident city commissioner.

They were composed and kept calm as they showcased before President Yoweri Museveni the newly acquired military and gun-handling skills. They commanded the parade amidst the heavy pour, a move that endeared them more to the President.

Museveni praised them for being true cadres and likened their determination to true revolutionary spirits of soldiers who never fear bullets, rain and sunshine.

“Thank you for supporting NRM. I like your spirit. Soldiers don’t fear rain, sunshine and guns,” he said.

However, Museveni was quick to invite some of the children, who were part of the parade, to his tent so that they can get some shelter—away from the heavy down pour.

Inside the tent, these young cadres of NRM were served soft drinks. Museveni also thanked them for developing the NRM philosophy at a tender age.

Museveni also advised these cadres to support his quest for industries so that they can get ready jobs in the future.

The President also warned them against divisive politics advising that NRM has managed to stay in power for 28 years because the party understood the importance of peace and stability.

Kajik said that these cadres were trained on a number of subjects—including the NRM ideology.

Aisha Kabanda, the Kampala resident city commissioner said that the trained youth will act as a reserve force of Kampala that will help in matters of security.
