KCCA FC dumped South Sudan outfit Atlabara after a 3-1 win to set up a semi-final clash against giants El Merriekh in the CECAFA Kagame Club tournament on Friday.

Brian Majwega, Brian Umony and Hakim Ssenkumba struck as the FUFA Super League champions progressed at Nyamirambo Stadium on Wednesday.

KCCA’s semi-final clash will be a repeat of the club’s CAF Champions League preliminary two-leg meeting with the Sudan champions in February this year.

The Ugandan outfit eliminated El Merriekh after a 3-2 aggregate win despite losing the second leg 2-1 at Namboole Stadium.

El Merriekh signed KCCA goalkeeper Salim Jamal and it will be interesting to see how the youthful goalkeeper fares against his former employers.

Jamal has been integral to El Merriekh’s progress in the regional tournament so far.

He saved one penalty as the Sudan outfit eliminated Tanzanian champions Azam after a 4-3 shoot-out victory.

The game had ended goalless after 90 minutes.
