A section of NRM MPs have accused colleagues of being “compromised” to support the passing of the budget without additional funds for the health sector.

Addressing the press at Parliament on Tuesday, MPs Banarbas Tinkasiimire, Theodore Ssekikubo, Cerina Nebanda and Wilfred Niwagaba said some of their NRM colleagues were transported to State House over the weekend for talks with the Executive.

The presidential press secretary, Tamale Mirundi, said it was not irregular for the president to meet MPs. He added that the President did not need to bribe MPs to pass the budget.

When pressed to name the MPs he was accusing, Tinkasimiire only mentioned the Workers MP, Sam Lyomoki, whose phone could not be reached for comment.
