KAMPALA - Persons who wish to attend the much anticipated fourth season of Vision Group’s Pakasa Forum can only do so by sending their details to the email address pakasaforum@newvision.co.ug by Thursday 21.

Registration and attendance is free-of-charge.

The forum, to be addressed by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, under the theme: Creating Opportunities for Youth in East Africa, will take place this Saturday at the Kampala Parents School auditorium in Naguru, off the Lugogo Bypass. President Yoweri Museveni is also expected to attend.

Susan Nsibirwa, the head of marketing at Vision Group, said due to limited space and for security considerations, only up to 3,000 participants will be accommodated at the venue.

“The registered participants will have special passes to be collected from the Vision Group head office on Plot 19/21 First Street, Industrial Area on Friday. Nobody will be allowed at the venue without a pass,” she said.

However, Nsibirwa said, the rest of the country can follow the discussions live on Vision Group electronic media platforms.

“We shall telecast the proceedings live on Urban TV in Kampala, central, east, north and West Nile regions. Urban TV will carry Pakasa Forum to audiences in west and south western Uganda. We will also broadcast live across all Vision Group radio stations all over the country, as well as stream live on social media and the Internet via Google Hangouts,” she said.

Pakasa Forum is a corporate social responsibility initiative of Vision Group. It seeks to bridge the information gap on where resources, opportunities and support are for the youth in Uganda.

The forum is inspired by Pakasa, the pullout that covers issues pertaining to entrepreneurship in New Vision. It is published every Friday.

Pakasa tells stories of successful entrepreneurs and the hurdles they overcame to get to where they are; inspiring aspiring, budding and even successful entrepreneurs, who learn from their struggles, mistakes and counsel.

The pullout also gives expert advice on the various aspects of starting and operating various businesses in Uganda.
