Over 200 food vendors were left hopeless, after Kampala Capital City Authority brought down the makeshift eateries.
The shacks around Arua Park along Wilson road were serving food and drinks to thousands of city dwellers mainly those travelling at night and early morning.
Others are business people working around the area.

The vendors who consisted mainly of women were forced to carry their charcoal stoves, utensils, fridges and benches when KCCA enforcers arrived at the scene.
Some of them said that KCCA was acting unfairly by throwing them off the streets without finding a solution to their problems.
The operation saw 20 lock-up stores closed, leaving close to 200 people hopeless.
“We appreciate what KCCA has done but what next? They should find us a place like they have done for other vendors,” said Anne Akello, one of the food vendors.
KCCA assistant spokesperson, Robert Kalumba said they were operating illegally, in unhygienic place yet KCCA has legal markets where they can work.
