Museveni is a God-guided leader, says Angina

Army MP and chief of staff for Land Forces, Maj. Gen. Charles Angina has said Uganda is blessed to have President Yoweri Museveni because he is a God-guided leader.

Speaking as the guest of honour during a jubilee prophetic conference organized by Christian MPs in Parliament, Angina, who was recently promoted by President Museveni from the rank of Brigadier General to a Maj. General, said his promotion would not have happened if President Yoweri Museveni was not a God-fearing man who listens to the voice of God.

“Psalms 75:6-7 says promotion comes from the Lord. I salute God for promoting but that happens if the commander in chief (President) is guided by God,” Angina explained.

Qualifying his recent remarks that the UPDF will become the best army on the African continent, Angina said, “Without God, there is nothing you can do and succeed. The UPDF’s successes in Sudan, Somalia, and DR Congo are because we have a commander in chief who fears God. That is why he always quotes the Bible.”

He gave the example of the Somalia war and the outstanding success achieved as a clear indicator that God’s hand is upon UPDF.

“Whereas missions of powerful armies of the USA and NATO failed in Somalia, UPDF managed for the first time to compel the Alshabab to surrender. That is why I prophesied that UPDF will become the best army on earth,” Angina argued.

Encouraging believers to always be God’s ambassadors in their workplaces, Angina said in every organisation there are people who act on behalf of the forces of wickedness and always fight the righteous people who serve with integrity but God always fights for those who serve faithfully.

This born again General known for his incorruptibility appealed to the MPs and all other leaders to involve God in whatever they do and to ensure that people always see God’s spirit in them through their deeds of righteousness and justice.

Visiting Nigerian scholar and priest Dr. Steve Ogan said the more righteous and servant leaders a country gets the more it prospers and gets sustainable peace.
