The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is set to preside over Express Football Club’s fundraising dinner on Friday.

Organised by the Club’s Corporate Members group, the event will be held at Jenina Hotel in Ndeeba.

The event, spearheaded by Express’ acting chairman Francis Ntalazi, is expected to attract contributions from the club’s supporters in various companies in Kampala and beyond.

Each card for the function goes for sh100,000.

The club hopes to raise enough money to start its new season on a high note.

“This year, we want to be different,” Ntalazi said.

“We have got new players and we are running to our own fans and well-wishers to help us reorganise and achieve our target.

“I am sure that their support will be very helpful.”

The move by the Wankulukuku side comes after developments at their bitter rivals Sports Club Villa, who have elected a new president Immanuel Misagga.

Misagga is currently transforming the club.

At the dinner, Express officials are expected to unveil their new signings including former Cranes players Simon Sserunkuuma and Geoffrey Sserunkuuma.
