Margret Komuhangi, Nakasongola Woman MP immediately rushed to the scene of accident and advised other survivors who had remained behind also to go for medical examination and treatment.

Samuel Kaboggoza, an eyewitnesses and a resident of Nakitoma  in Nakasongola  said the owner the donkey failed to control it yet the cattle truck was  speeding.

He said it is a common practice for cattle truck drivers mainly on market days to over speed  compromising road safety.

The truck that was involved in the accident was one of many from Kampala, Gulu and beyond that had just loaded cattle from Nakitoma cattle market in Nakasongola on Friday.

James Semyalo, Nakitoma sub county chairperson said   transportation of cattle which is among  the major sources of revenue for both the sub county and the district is still a challenge   due to overloading and overspreading.
