As the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign draws near, domestic physical fitness and nutrition expert Robert Ssebugwawo has tipped Cranes officials on the what is needed to assemble a strong team.

Ssebugwawo told New Vision that Cranes team has in the past fallen short because players lack the right physic, fitness and proper nutrition.

“We have to work on players’ physical fitness, speed, body conditioning and appropriate mass to counter the weight of players in the teams we shall face,” Ssebugwawo stated.

He explained that the other issue that has to be seriously addressed is the players’ diet.

Ssebugwawo said players should have the right levels of hydration so as to avoid loss of stamina during matches.

The expert went on to say that he is ready to offer professional tips so that Uganda qualifies for the finals of the continent’s premier soccer competition.

The finals will be held in Morocco next year.

Uganda Cranes last featured at the finals in Ghana in 1978.

Cranes produced a brilliant display to reach the final before going down 2-0 to the hosts.
