KCCA FC coach George Nsimbe has said all is set for the team to hit the road this morning to Kigali for the CECAFA Kagame Cup that kicks off on Friday.

KCCA is in the opening fixture against Gor Mahia of Kenya at Amahoro Stadium and Nsimbe is confident the return of his strikers, Brian Umony and Brian Majwega, from the Cranes will boost the side that is representing Uganda at the 2014 CECAFA club competition.

Nsimbe will face Ugandan players at Gor Mahia including Daniel Serunkuma, Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and Geoffrey Walusimbi.

“I am not scared of the Kenyans. We are prepared for the competition,” said Nsimbe, whose team won the FUFA Super Cup on Saturday where they beat Uganda Cup holders URA 2-0 at Wankulukuku.

After the departure of Tony Odur now with Nkana Red Devils of Zambia and Fahad Kawooya who joined Villa, Nsimbe has beefed up his side with experienced custodian Yasin Mugabi who excelled in SC Villa and previously in URA. Martin Elungat formerly with Villa has also joined.

KCCA’s other new signings include Dan Isiagi from Victoria University, Rogers Lukwiya from Express, Francis Sembatya from Lweza, Paul Muchunguzi from Mutundwe Lions and Owen Kasule from URA.

KCCA last appeared in the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2008 where they lost to Atraco at the quarter final stage.
