Uganda U-17 arrive in Rwanda

The Uganda National U-17 team safely arrived in Gisenyi City Thursday where they are expected to honour their Africa Youth Soccer Championship qualifier against Rwanda on Friday.

The Uganda National U-17 team safely arrived in Gisenyi City Thursday where they are expected to honour their Africa Youth Soccer Championship qualifier against Rwanda on Friday. The team is accommodated at the four star Peace Land hotel, overlooking Lake Kivu.

Uganda’s delegation is led by FUFA executive member Richard Ochom accompanied by FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa and another executive member Rasoul Aliga.

Uganda Cubs lead their Rwanda Wasps counterparts 4-0 after the first leg in Kampala and they hope to depend on their fast pace to win the return leg in Rwanda.

In strikers Charles Sebutinde, who scored home and away against Seychelles, Muhammed Shaban, Pius Obuya and  Alex Komakech, Lule has weapons, who terrorised both Seychelles and Rwanda right backs in the previous matches.

With impressive paces in the previous matches, Uganda Cubs have scored a total of nine goals against Seychelles (5-1 aggregate) and Rwanda (4-0). The aggregate winner over the two legs will meet either Zambia or Botswana in the final stage of the qualifiers.
