Two nominated for Butambala by-election

Two people have so far been nominated for the Butambala by-election due September 12.They are Ibrahim Tomusange of Uganda Federal Alliance and Faridah Nakiboneka, and independent.

Mwanga Kivumbi Mohammed of the Democratic Party and Ssentongo Sharif Nambale an independent and also son of the late Dr. Sulaiman Kiggundu of the Forum for Democratic Change are also expected to be nominated later in the day.

The Butambala parliamentary seat fell vacant when court annulled the election of Faisal Kikulukunyu on grounds that he rigged.

 Seven people picked nomination forms in Butambala.

Four candidates had been booked to be nominated today and NRM’s Faisal Kikulukunyu is to appear for nominations at 2:00pm on Wednesday.
