TOKYO - Fujitsu said Thursday it had swung back to profitability in the April-June period, with the Japanese information technology giant's results driven by upbeat demand for its personal computer and mobile products.
The company said its quarterly net profit stood at 6.9 billion yen ($67 million), reversing a 9.2 billion yen loss a year ago.
Sales rose about seven percent to 1.1 trillion yen, it said.
In Japan, Fujitsu's revenue from mobile phones and PCs rose significantly, as did income from system integration services, the company said in a statement, adding that restructuring efforts also helped its bottom line.
For the fiscal year through March, the company said it expected a net profit of 125 billion yen and sales of 4.8 trillion yen.
