“I was calculating. I knew that the race had some good sprinters and what I wanted was to make sure that I am among the top three. That is why I hung on ready to sprint but there was little cause for panic as I was already in the required bracket,” said Musagala, who will be competing in his first international final race.
“It is my first final and I do not want to risk. It is going to be a tactical race and I want to try my level best to see that I win a medal. There are three people who I respect led by (David) Rudisha but I do not fear them. I want to win my maiden medal,” said the athlete who is managed by Global Sports Communication.
Musagala has improved a lot since his first competitive race in Moscow last year.
