The NRM electoral commission is to hold its primary elections for Usuk county constituency Member of Parliament seat today.

The decision was arrived at in a Usuk constituency NRM meeting that sat on Friday, which reaffirmed the decision of the NRM electoral commission to hold primary elections.

This follows concerns from some NRM stakeholders that the NRM executive committee had not carried out sufficient consultations in accordance with Article 41 of the NRM constitution before coming up with the NRM flag bearer.

It is alleged that the NRM NEC had fronted Proscovia Alengot, daughter to the late MP, Michael Oromait, who passed away on July 21, this year.

However, the vice-chairperson of the NRM electoral commission, Prof. Elijah Mushemeza has confirmed that all the candidates will be given a fair hearing in the primary elections.

Other candidates in the race include Charles Oleny, the current NRM Flag bearer and Richard Ongorok.
