A squad of U-10 and U-12 Uganda Junior League (UJL) teams will be among African sides that will feature in this year’s Warrior Keele Cup in Manchester starting Wednesday.
The UJL side won themselves invites to compete in the annual event when they clinched the U-10 trophy last year.
National Council of Sports officials are expected to flag off the team at their offices in Lugogo on Monday.
The competition starts on Wednesday with Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and Kenya among the other African teams invited.
In the U-11, Uganda Junior League will open their campaign against Flint Town Juniors from Canada.
The Ugandan contingent of 21 players and five officials will be led by Uganda Junior League director Charles Ssendagire.
Ssendagire said that, “we are hopeful to do better this year because our players have done enough preparations. We also have an experienced coach in Ronald Baaz.”
