The Uganda Cubs will not resume training for the return leg of the Africa U-17 Youth Championships qualifiers until Saturday because the players are not available.

FUFA had planned for the boys to resume preparations last Wednesday but because schools are heading for their examinations period, the players requested for more time at their respective schools around the country.

The Cubs coach Matia Lule confirmed the decision saying that he expects all the players to return straight to camp at the FUFA technical centre in Njeru Sataurday where they will train for at least four days before heading for the return leg in Kigali on July 30.

All his players save for team captain Andrew Isiagi Okiring, Qatar based Hassan Ssenyonjo as well as the Kenya based duo of Imran Mpaata and Emmanuel Olinga are at school.

He said that in the four days of training, he will concentrate on  speed among the players as his biggest weapon which Rwanda physically failed to cope up with in the 4-0 first leg defeat in Kampala last Saturday.

“We shall not have a lot of training time so it will only be fair to pick the aspect of pace and concentrate on it. You realise it is our biggest weapon and we’ll again want to make them tired within the first 15minutes of play,” Lule said with such confidence.

For financial difficulties, FUFA plans to transport the boys for the match on August 2 by road and that means the team will have to set off mid next week.
