Four people have been appointed in acting capacity replacing top programme managers suspended last month.
Yesterday Permanent Secretary, Dr. Asuman Lukwago confirmed that the drooped programme managers' performance reviews are underway.
Dr. Joshua Musinguzi has been appointed to replace Zainab Akol in the AIDS Control Programme, Dr. Jacinta Musinguzi has been replaced Dr. Rachel Seruyange in Uganda National Expanded Programme on Immunisation.
And, Dr. Albert Okwir has taken over from Dr. Sarafin Adibaku as the in-charge of the malaria control programme; and Dr. Gerald Mutungi has now replaced Dr. James Sekajugo as Programme Manager of the non-communicable diseases programme.
The suspension is believed, to be an initiation of a massive move to overhaul the entire health ministry; aimed at improving service delivery in the country.
According to sources, it is alleged that some of the four officials had weaknesses in regard to management of funds. It also alleged that some of the funds which were being sent to districts by some of the withdrawn managers would later be diverted and misappropriated.
