It was evening of extremes in the Bell Uganda Super League Tuesday. As table leaders Express stumbled to a goal-less draw at their Wankulukuku fortress, Proline got loads of goals.

Express stretched their lead to 44 points but with their rivals URA FC just two points behind and having three games at hand, the Red Eagles could be in trouble of having the title slip out of their grip.

At Nakivubo, Proline was in much better form striding closer to the top three with the league’s biggest score since the infamous 22-1 Villa win over Akol in 2003.

Proline rolled over Hoima-Busia 8-1 in a match that had Anthony Bongole and Willy Wadri bagging a hat trick each, while veteran Abubaker Tabula and Andrew Kidega added the others.

Visibly missing on the team’s bench was coach Abdallah Mubiru who is in Tororo for the National Post Primary Schools Soccer Championship.

Ayub Isiko scored Busia-Hoima’s consolation.

At Lugazi, URA set one foot in the final of the Bell Uganda Cup after their semi-final first leg 2-0 win over stubborn Masaka. Hamis Kitagenda and Sula Baagala netted for the taxmen ahead of the return leg due on Friday in Masaka.

It would have been a much bigger score if it wasn’t for the superb show exhibited by Masaka goalkeeper Fahad Katongole’s.

The win also boosted URA’s quest for a league and Cup double.
