Nasser Basajjabalaba loses parliament seat

The Court of appeal in Kampala Tuesday nullified the election of Nasser Basajjabalaba (NRM) as Ishaka Municipality MP.

The court ordered for fresh elections.

Justices Alice Mpagi Bahigaine, Stella Arachi and Constance Byamugisha over ruled high court judge Vincent Zehurikize’s ruling that had dismissed the petition.

Odo Tayebwa petitioned court over Bassajjabalalaba’s election on grounds that the exercise was marred with massive voters’ bribery among other irregularities.

Lawyer Boniface Ngaruye Ruhindi who represented Tayebwa said he happy justice has prevailed.
