Police is hunting unknown persons who on Sunday snatched the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) director's briefcase from one of the Authority's official cars.

The executive director, Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula was not in the vehicle when the briefcase containing KCCA documents was reportedly stolen.

Musisi’s office on Monday declined to give the details of the location where the incident took place.

"The stolen briefcase has vital documents of the institution and I cannot give you much detail because it may jeopardize investigations. But up to now we have not got any report of arrests yet," KCCA’s spokesperson Peter Kaujju said Monday evening.

On why anyone would target Musisi's briefcase, Kaujju replied, "we have information that so many people are trailing us considering the nature of our work which lately included interception of suspicious deals involving a lot of money."

Asked if the theft had moved his boss, Kaujju quoted Musisi saying," None of us at KCCA will be intimidated from continuing with their objectives. This will not derail us from our work."

Kaujju said the incident was the second time that KCCA documents were being targeted.

Last week, an official laptop used by one of the directors was stolen. Although he declined to identify the affected director, he however added that this too had vital information.

But the Authority’s spokesman did not divulge the type of information there.

He also refused to say where it was stolen from.
