A UPDF Lieutenant Colonel John Kaye facing murder charges at the Court Martial in Kampala has been denied bail for a third time.

Kaye is accused of shooting dead Steven Kabuye when he turned up with his wife and a friend in his car at the residence of the army officer at around 3:00pm last November last year.

Court presided over by Brig. Charles Angina Wednesday refused to grant him bail despite pleas his lawyers that he is sick and requires proper treatment.

Court ruled that the bail application of the serving army officer had no merit and refused to grant him bail on grounds that he is accused of a capital offense and that the trial was progressing very well.

Angina ordered the prosecution to produce all the witnesses against the accused to expedite his trial. He ruled that Kaye’s case should be heard every week so that it can be disposed of as soon as possible.
