FORMER rugby league champions Kobs look to stretch their table lead this evening when they face off with Rhinos at Kampala Rugby Club in the Nile Special Super Eight rugby league.

Kobs’ strongman Steven Ogwete, the current top scorer with four tries, and centre Ronald Musajja will lead the team’s tries hunt.

Playing a fast and hard tackling game, under inspirational Fred Mudoola, Kobs want to repeat their unbeaten record of 2007.

“We are focused on not only a win but a bonus point too,” team captain Brian Odong stated.

Kobs that last lifted the title in 2008 started off the season in high gear, whipping Jinja based Nile rfc 97-0 and later Xfm Impis 75-8 to go top of the table.

Kobs has unleashed all their experienced staff for this year’s title campaign. Adrian Bukenya, Bob Bibagamba, Victor Wadia, Timothy Mudoola, Mike Wandera and Steven Ogwete are the top names.

However, Rhinos’ John Musoke is optimistic his side can upset Kobs despite missing scrum half Timothy Buloti who was sent off in the game against Pirates last Saturday.

Rhinos are yet to win a game after falling 26-3 to Pirates and 10-3 to Mongers in their opening games.
