Three arrested for killing Nakaseke LC1 chairman

Three people have been arrested in connection with the Friday murder of a village LC1 1 in Nakaseke District.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the Friday murder of a village LC1 1 in Nakaseke District.

Besweri Mukiibi, the LC1 Chairman of Bukattira village, Seggalye parish in Semuto was killed at about 6.30 am by unknown assailants who waylaid him along a village path.

The deceased’s body bearing stab wounds on the head and torso was found dumped in a thicket near his home.

A police team that visited the blood stained scene at around midday arrested two neighbors to help in investigations.

Nakaseke District police Commander, Edward Kyaligonza said those who have been  arrested  include: Dan Kibirige, and Robert  Mugerwa  and Sulaiman Kiggundu all neighbors to the deceased.

The DPC said the deceased was going to excavate sand from a quarry near his house at around 6.30 am on Friday, when unknown people who waylaid along a village path, attacked him with sharp weapons, inflicting stab wounds on his torso and head.
