EXPRESS FC will today officially launch their soccer academy at Wankulukuku.

At the function starting at 2pm the U-13 and U-15 sides will present the trophies they won in the past season to the fans. The latest was in December when the U-13 team beat their counterparts from SC Villa 2-0 in the final of the Edgars tournament.

According to Express technical committee boss Francis Ntalazi, the presentation will be preceded by football matches involving the club’s U-15 side playing against a visiting team from Bunamwaya. The Red Eagles’ Division One team, Wembley FC, will also take on the senior team in an exhibition match.

Ntalazi, who has been behind the emergence of the junior sides, said it was time for the fans to appreciate the importance of the under age teams and also have a hand in their maintenance.

“It has almost been a one-man (Ntalazi) show. Today we want to show the fans what we have been doing in the background so that they may also come on board,” Ntalazi commented about the junior teams.

Express FC visit URA at Namboole tomorrow for a top of the table clash in the Uganda Super League.
