Two men were committed for trial in the High Ccourt over aggravated robbery on Wednesday. Aliku Owor and Francis Obbo allegedly attacked Paul Wekesa at his home in Hamali village on July 6. They are said to have taken sh20,000, eight chicken and a bicycle before beheading Wekesa. State Attorney Annette Ddungu said the suspects beat up Wekesa’s family members before robbing them.

BUTALEJA
The African development bank has donated sh22m to improve tree planting in the district. A forest officer, Charles Banamwita, said the funds would encourage locals to plant trees. This would increase their household income, conserve the environment and ensure that future generations live well.
