All persons who were given Blackberry mobile phones during preparations for CHOGM have been given a 2-weeks ultimatum to return them to the ministry of ICT.

All persons who were given Blackberry mobile phones during preparations for CHOGM have been given a 2-weeks ultimatum to return them to the ministry of ICT.

The directive was issued by Parliament's Public accounts committee,investigating the misuse of CHOGM funds.

56 out of over 300 beneficiaries have returned the blackberry phones, permanent secretary in the ministry of ICT Jimmy Samanya has told the committee.

Those who fail to return or pay for the blackberries within two weeks will be deemed to have stolen Government assets,committee chairman Nandala Mafabi says.
