The Police in Busia district have arrested a traditional medicine man and the father of an eight-year-old boy, whom they were reportedly planning to sell off at sh4m.

Charles Oumo, the Busia district police commander, identified the suspects as Ali Mudega of Muwayo trading centre and Muhammad Kiduma, the boy’s father who lives in Muterere sub-county, Bugiri district.

He said the two were arrested last week and detained at Busia police station, after they were netted receiving money from a purported buyer who had been sent to trap them.

Oumo identified the victim as Sadati Muganda, a primary two pupil of Bulebi Primary School, in Muterere.
He said the Police got a tip-off when a contact Mudega was using to look for the buyers of the boy in Kenya informed the authorities.

“Mudega asked his contact to look for market for Muganda and a four-year-old girl but his contact informed one of our officers who tipped us off,” Oumo said.
