KAMPALA - The Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court will on July 12 start hearing the case against Kyadondo South MP Issa Kikungwe, who is accused of promoting sectarianism. The date was fixed on Tuesday by magistrate Immaculate Busingye. Kikungwe was charged on January 12, but he denied the charges and was granted a cash bail of sh200,000. Prosecution alleged that the MP made inflammatory statements at Lweza Catholic Church during the September riots in Buganda.

Advocacy firm tips on polls

KAMPALA - Ugandans should be trained how to tolerate people they do not agree with in politics, the Advocacy for Violence-Free Elections president has advised. Anthony Mula said as the country prepares for the general elections, leaders should educate the masses not to turn against each other.
