HE cut his entreprenual teeth selling Coca Cola products before discovering the world of IT solutions. He then climbed the social ladder after starting Jas SMS and running Zain’s sms services. After selling Jas SMS to Zain’s Patrick Kizito, James Muhairwe joined Bank of Uganda as an IT specialist.

He, however, gained more prominence after setting up SMS One about two years ago, to provide services to telecom and television stations.

Now we hear the youthful entrepreneur has just landed a deal to provide SMS services for the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. This will enable customers get their water bills and be notified when their bill exceeds a certain amount, via SMS. Well, the sky is now the limit for Muhairwe, who also owns majority shares in two other sms companies, S&S Communications and Kwanza Limited.
