Tarmack this road or else

EDITOR—I have been listening keenly to the past three financial year budget speeches. The Mbale-Tororo to the Manafwa-Lwakhakha border has been mentioned every year the national budget has been read. However, three years down the road, completely nothing has been done about it.

Not even the tendering process has begun to repair the road which is in a sorry state. The question therefore is whether we should seriously listen to the budget pronouncements. I think finance and works ministries should answer this question. When will this road ever be tarmacked?
For three years money has been allocated for this road but was it ever released or was it released and embezzled? The dust from the road has been a source of many diseases and peoples houses along it have been discoloured beyond recognition.
If this road is not tarmacked, I appeal to all the people of Mbale, Manafwa and Bududa to “vote wiselyâ€.
