THE First Lady and minister for Karamoja Affairs, Janet Museveni, has advised young professionals to use their skills to develop Uganda. “Every young Christian must change the corner where God has placed them,” she said. She also warned against being complacent.

“People have made their cities beautiful. what are you doing for your generation to change your country?” she asked at the opening of the 2010 Inspire Conference at Imperial Royale Hotel on Wednesday.

The conference, which was initiated five years ago, is a motivational event organised by Watoto Church, All Saints Cathedral Nakasero, Deliverance Church, Bugolobi Church of Uganda, Makerere Full Gospel Church and the Church of the Resurrection.

It is meant to inspire young professionals to become good leaders.
Mrs. Museveni explained that if young people excelled at their workplaces, their employers would reward them, adding that their good works would be emulated by others.

She also urged the young people to dedicate their work to God and uphold their Christian principles.

She decried corruption and crimes like ritual murders, kidnap and child sacrifice, among others.

Mrs Museveni also appealed to the church to be exemplary and preach the gospel through their actions.

Julian Kyula, a Kenyan motivational speaker, urged Christians to develop a positive attitude towards developing Africa.

He urged parents to teach their children business skills early in life and to help them pursue career dreams founded on family and Christian values.
