THE NRM has set August 16 as the deadline for nomination of party officials at district and national levels.

Lydia Wanyoto, the party’s electoral commissioner, said this will allow the party to carry out civic education and prepare election materials.

The party will hold primaries on August 30 and end with the election of the presidential flag-bearer from September 7 to 10, ahead of the country’s general elections next year.

The countrywide nominations resumed yesterday for LCs, sub-county and district councillors, who will be nominated at the district.

Aspirants for MP and LC5 seats will be nominated at the headquarters in Kampala.

By mid-day yesterday, many NRM district administrative secretaries had started picking nomination forms at the secretariat on Kyadondo Road.

Many districts are expected to conduct the nomination exercise today. Districts reported a high number of aspirants.
