AN eight-year-old girl has been reported missing from her home in Bunga, a Kampala suburb, since Sunday, September 5.

Jemima Imagoro (commonly known as Mima), was staying with a Makerere University lecturer, Samson Omongot, the husband of her aunt.

Omongot, who reported the matter to Gaba Police Station, said the child had been left under the care of a maid and another relative, as the family travelled to Soroti for burial.

He told New Vision on Monday that when they returned from the burial, they were told by the maid that the girl had disappeared the previous night and that a search for her had yielded no fruits.

Omongot said the child had just been picked from their home village in Soroti and was about to begin school.

“She has been disappearing from home for hours, but would later resurface and claim she was in the neighborhood. We never knew she would get lost,” he explained.

Details on how Imagoro was dressed on the fateful day are not clear.

Omongot appeals to anyone who may know the whereabouts of the child to contact the nearest Police station or LC authorities. He can be reached on 0776 865247 or 0712 865247.
