Only capable leadership will redeem Abim

EDITOR: Since its creation in 2006, Abim district has not developed from where it has always been! This is because of poor leadership by those who view politics as an avenue for self-aggrandizement.
EDITOR: Since its creation in 2006, Abim district has not developed from where it has always been! This is because of poor leadership by those who view politics as an avenue for self-aggrandizement.
The population has not been sensitised on what kind of leaders to elect and end up electing unpatriotic people who are not accountable and cannot deliver. This is why there is gross corruption, theft of hospital drugs and embezzlement of funds from central government. Abim is blessed with very well educated and bright people but they have not shown interest in the politics of the area. Politics can play a great role in the development of any area. Because people have not realised this, wrong people have been elected to assume leadership positions. This has ruined Abim.
The next five years are most likely to be worse if the situation is not salvaged now. I call upon the educated people of Abim, wherever they are; to rise up and vie for leadership positions at all levels. This is the only way to revolutionise the political trend of Abim.The duty of developing our land mainly rests on our shoulders. Please, use your education to build your land. We should make our next five years better than the previous years. We should sacrifice not for ourselves but for our children. Let us make them inherit a better Abim so that tomorrow, they will bless instead of cursing us.
